Being involved with Muscular Dystrophy NSW means that you have access to a wide range of activities and events all throughout the year. Events held annually across NSW include Camps, Weekend Retreats, Christmas Parties, Medical Seminars, the Easter Show and our highly successful Gala Ball
We will also continue to conduct Boccia Coaching Clinics and Day Camps in a bid to establish Boccia Pockets throughout NSW so that people with a neuromuscular condition (NMC) will be able to play regularly on a social basis. Boccia is a Paralympic sport which is suitable to anyone of any age, gender or ability. Players will also be able to partake in the Great Boccia Bash where those with a NMC will compete against those with Cerebral Palsy in our first ever grudge match!!
Perhaps one of our most exciting initiatives to take off last year was The MDNSW Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, where a small group of young people with a NMC have been given the opportunity to participate in an unprecedented pilot project which could set the benchmark for people with disabilities throughout not only NSW and Australia, but globally as well!
At Muscular Dystrophy NSW we work hard to make sure that there are fun, exciting, informative and educational activities happening for all our families all over NSW. Please take a look at our Events Calendar for what is coming up next and make sure you have a good read of our free Talking Point magazine which is distributed to all of our families a few times a year. If you’re not on our database, please give us a call to register your details so you don’t miss out on any of the events or activities we run throughout the year.
