Advocacy
Muscular Dystrophy NSW aims to advocate, protect ad advance the legal, human and service rights of people with Neuromuscular Conditions. Muscular Dystrophy NSW staff are here to work with you to achieve outcomes or refer you to an organisation that is able to further assist you. Advocacy can be provided on an individual, group or systemic basis with the overall aim of achieving equal access and rights.
Advocacy can be used to provide support to help you to self advocate or for Muscular Dystrophy NSW staff to advocate on your behalf dependent upon your needs and issue. Muscular Dystrophy NSW aims to support members to develop their confidence, assertiveness and self advocacy skills.
Advocacy can also involve Muscular Dystrophy NSW feeding back concerns and issues identified by members to government and other policy making bodies to help shape future services for people living with a Neuromuscular Disorder.

Members Advisory Committee (MAC)
The Members Advisory Committee group meets at regular intervals to discuss any issues that relate to members and provides ideas and suggested changes in services to the board of Muscular Dystrophy NSW. It is an opportunity to have a voice in the decision making process of Muscular Dystrophy NSW.
