The meaning of Kula N' Gadu

After consultation with the local Guringai people, our Camps at Narrabeen have been given the title of Camp Kula N’ Gadu (pronounced cool – an – gard – ah).

The Camp name comes from the language spoken by the Guringai people meaning proud of who you are and where you’ve come from. It is best explained by describing that feeling you get when you dive into the water on a boiling hot day and emerge with the sun shining on you, making you feel strong and refreshed and ready for the next challenge.

We think it’s a powerful and meaningful name that captures so much of our Camp spirit! We  thank representatives of the Guringai people for sharing a special part of their culture with us and we acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional owners of the land on which the Camp is held.
