MDNSW Open Day 2017

Peer Support – A supportive place for people affected by neuromuscular conditions!

MDNSW is working to establish a network of facilitated Peer Support Groups across NSW, targeting primarily those with a NMC including those who don’t have an NDIS plan, their families and carers.

 

Upcoming events:

Peer Connect Community Gathering is held once every month at Lidcombe Dooleys Catholic Club. Come and join us for our next gathering on 26 July 2019. More info here

The aim of the groups is to support individuals and those they care for to:

  • Build skills and capacity to advocate for themselves through increased motivation, confidence and empowerment
  • Set and achieve goals
  • Encourage participation in the community
  • Increase contribution to their communities through leadership and their ability to influence others as individuals and as a group
