Peer Support – A supportive place for people affected by neuromuscular conditions!
MDNSW is working to establish a network of facilitated Peer Support Groups across NSW, targeting primarily those with a NMC including those who don’t have an NDIS plan, their families and carers.
SMArties – peer support group for people with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and their families, Sunday 2 June 2019 at MDNSW Office, 80 Betty Cuthbert Drive, Lidcombe from 1.30pm-3.30pm. More info here.
Siblings Day Out – for kids who have a brother or sister with a neuromuscular condition. More info here

The aim of the groups is to support individuals and those they care for to:
- Build skills and capacity to advocate for themselves through increased motivation, confidence and empowerment
- Set and achieve goals
- Encourage participation in the community
- Increase contribution to their communities through leadership and their ability to influence others as individuals and as a group
