Jessica Henry

Jess is our Chief Executive Officer. Jess has a background in people leadership, operations, change strategy, business planning and risk management, spanning both the corporate and for-purpose sectors. Prior to her role at MDNSW, Jess was Head of Risk and Governance at Children’s Cancer Institute and has held senior positions at Citigroup. Fun fact: Jess is a serial cricket fanatic! Jess is passionate about mentorship and coaching young women in sport. She is also a Member of the Board Sub-Committee and Women’s Committee for Cricket NSW.

Angelito Escada

When we think numbers, we think Angelito! Angelito has been at MDNSW for over eight years and has a background in finance and commerce. He is responsible for keeping our numbers in check and making sure our IT is running nice and smoothly. Even though he’s running a lot of the back of house, you’ll spot him at some of our community events! In his spare time, Angelito loves spending time with his friends and family.

Every organisation needs a Gracia! Gracia has been at MDNSW for over eight years, playing a key role in our Shared Services department across payroll, IT and day-to-day operations. If any of us have a question, Gracia probably has the answer! In her spare time, Gracia loves to travel and spend time with her family.

Milvia is a self-confessed technology and policy nerd with a reputation as the queen of continuous improvement. Milvia likes to tackle complex systems and find ways to improve them. She has worked in the non-profit sector for a couple of decades and at MDNSW for six years. In her free time, Milvia immerses herself in art, film and Chinese TV shows.

Prue is our Fundraising Manager with over a decade of experience in the for-purpose and charity space. Prue leads the Fundraising team to make sure the donations and funding keep coming through so that we can continue to do what we do! From writing grants to building out campaigns, Prue loves seeing the impact of fundraising first-hand through our community events and programs. In her down time, Prue loves to get creative and paint or read a book.

Community Fundraising Specialist

Mimi is our Community Fundraising Specialist with over three years’ experience in fundraising and over 10 years’ experience in supporter services, volunteering with NFP’s and advocating for change in her community. Mimi also recently won FIA’s 2025 NSW Young Fundraiser of the Year Award. Mimi leads our community fundraising initiatives including the Big Red Roll & Stroll event and Community Heroes program. She loves connecting with our amazing community and seeing events come to life. In her spare time, she loves dancing, reading, swimming, everything creative and finding the best new food spots.

With extensive experience in partnerships, sales, advertising and business development, Patrick is our people’s person! As a Relationships Manager – Strategic Philanthropy, Patrick is responsible for liaising with partner organisations such as our corporate sponsors and other charities to spread the word about the work that we do and the impact we create.

Meet our Service Delivery Manager, Allyce! With a background as an Occupational Therapist, Allyce has over 10 years’ experience in the disability sector. Passionate about bringing our community together, Allyce leads the Service Delivery team to ensure we deliver engaging, accessible and high-quality programs, events and services to you and your loved ones. In her spare time, Allyce loves to spend time at the beach.

Jenny is our Outreach Coordinator and resident Camp Queen! If you’ve ever been in contact with us, you’ve probably spoken with Jenny. Jenny is responsible for managing all enquiries that come through at MDNSW as well as supporting our camps and retreats. Did you know Jenny has supported over 26 camps? Jenny’s quote to live by is “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” – Mother Teresa.

Say hi to Carolyn, our Senior Community Support Specialist and Peer Connect Program Lead! Having worked at Muscular Dystrophy NSW for over eight years, Carolyn loves bringing people together, sharing stories and advice, and creating opportunities for our community to lead their own path. With a background in social work, Carolyn worked for 12 years in community education roles for the state government. Carolyn has taught disability studies at TAFE and Western Sydney University and worked as a research associate at the University of NSW on the first evaluation of individualised funding in 2008. Since then, she has supported people with disability, combining her lived experience of a neuromuscular condition with expertise in self-management and empowerment tools. An avid foodie, traveller and concert-goer, Carolyn loves enjoying all the good things in life!

Laura is our Senior Community Support Specialist, managing all our camps and retreats. Laura has worked in a range of roles within disability services, most recently in the Supported Independent Living and Specialist Disability Accommodation setting. A self-proclaimed “sucker for the magic of camp”, Laura loves witnessing first-hand the effect of camp on kids living with neuromuscular conditions. If there was a soundtrack to Laura’s life, it would be “It Is What It Is” by Jenna Raine, as she believes that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously and it’s okay to have a laugh and a cheeky dance!

Ganesh has been supporting our community at MDNSW over the years. As a Senior NDIS Support Coordinator, Ganesh is responsible for supporting our NDIS Support Coordination clients. He does this by linking them with appropriate supports and services, navigating the NDIS and providing opportunities to live independently and exercise choice and control.  You’ll spot Ganesh at some of our events such as Community Day or the Big Red Roll & Stroll. In his spare time, Ganesh loves nothing more than looking after his garden, his pride and joy!

Stephanie is a NDIS Support Coordinator, supporting our NDIS Support Coordination clients to become independent and achieve their goals. For Stephanie no two days are the same, she might be taking calls to support clients, checking in on clients at a home visit or connecting with relevant services. Stephanie is passionate about working directly with clients and their families so that they can achieve their goals.

Maddy is our Marketing and Engagement Team Lead, with more than eight years’ experience in the non-profit and for-purpose sector. She’s passionate about brand strategy, storytelling and creating content that showcases the impact of our work. Maddy loves finding fresh, meaningful ways to connect with our community, grow our reach and bring our message to life. A self-professed “word nerd”, she thrives in collaborative spaces where creativity meets purpose. She’s always up for getting out to events and sharing what’s happening across the MDNSW community.

Katherine (who only really goes by Kate) is our Marketing and Engagement Coordinator, who has a passion for all things digital and design. With four years of experience in strategic communication and digital storytelling, she’s all about making information clear, creative and accessible for our community. Kate is the brain behind some of MDNSW’s fresh, bold and inclusive visual identity, and she’s always looking for new ways to bring our brand to life. From designing resources to snapping pics at events, she loves capturing what makes our community special. If there’s a message to be shared – through video, audio, photos or design – Kate’s on it. And yes, she’s probably already thinking about the next newsletter layout.
