Camps for kids!

Would you like your child to have fun with other kids with neuromuscular conditions in a safe and supportive space?

MDNSW’s 5 day camps, also known as short stay programs, provide the opportunity for kids with neuromuscular conditions to experience teamwork and the thrill of a challenge which brings a huge sense of achievement.

“Camp is the only time my son feels ‘normal’. We are truly blessed to have this opportunity for him. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💕” – Deborah

We encourage campers to become more independent in their thinking and decision making and provide an environment where they can discover all that they can be.

Camp is about kids stepping outside their comfort zone and learning to believe that they are strong individuals, capable of achieving remarkable things!

Our activities provide something for everyone and are carefully designed so that everyone can take part.

“Daniel had a fantastic time, caught up with old friends, made new ones, was completely silly and even managed to miss his family, just a little. When he returns from camp each year we see a massive growth in self esteem and confidence. Words cannot describe what this week away means to him.” – Joanne

Young people in the MDNSW community who grew up attending camps sometimes return as peer mentors to the younger children, showing them different ways they can engage with the world. They demonstrate the leadership skills and confidence they developed through attending camps, and are invaluable role models to the campers.

Our camps also offer a respite opportunity for you and your family whilst your child builds friendships, resilience and self-confidence in a safe and fun environment.
