Testimonials

“I look forward to camp all year. At camp, I get to see my old friends, play wheelchair soccer, go swimming, and my favourite – plan for prank wars.”

Kamal
Camper

“Camps have been life-changing for Fletch. The first time we went to camp we were feeling very nervous, he hadn’t really been very far away from us before, but we could see some massive changes. He would lead the charge and we started to see him advocate for himself.”

Michelle
Mother

“The best part of camp was having fun with friends and all the fun activities. I enjoyed the independence being away from family and making new friends.”

John
Camper

“The Adventure Camp experience ended up being such a positive opportunity for John to develop independence… Not only did he make new friends and enjoy new experiences like playing in the sand at the beach and abseiling, but he also developed new independent skills that he is still doing at home now like brushing his teeth every day and getting himself dressed.

John can’t wait to go back to Camp next year and I am so grateful to MDNSW for making this life-changing experience for him possible.”

“The Adventure Camp experience ended up being such a positive opportunity for John to develop independence and this was something I really wanted for him. Not only did he make new friends and enjoy new experiences like playing in the sand at the beach and abseiling, but he also developed new independent skills that he is still doing at home now like brushing his teeth every day and getting himself dressed.

He’s more confident and we both understand that things won’t fall apart if I’m not around. John can’t wait to go back to Camp next year and I am so grateful to MDNSW for making this life-changing experience for him possible.”
