Mums’ Retreat

Find the space to recharge and connect with others!

Mums are always so busy taking care of everyone else – it’s time for you to have your own break. That’s where our Mums' Retreat comes in.

Designed for mums caring for someone with a neuromuscular condition, this nurturing weekend offers space to recharge, connect and feel supported by others who truly understand your journey.

Enjoy a relaxed, stress-free escape with activities like bushwalking, shared meals and movie nights – or simply take time for yourself. With a focus on connection and care, the Mums’ Retreat is your chance to slow down and be looked after for a change.

This special retreat happens once a year. Check our calendar for details on the next one.

Why attend Mums' Retreat?

  • Take a break to relax, recharge and focus on your own well-being – mentally and physically.
  • Build friendships and connections with other mums who share similar experiences.
  • Gain insights and emotional support in a warm, understanding environment.

There is a $100 per person registration fee to cover the cost of the retreat. If you have questions, contact our team.

“I found the Mums’ Retreats a blessing… time to get away from the everyday and relax and have a giggle with mums in similar situations.”

“The Adventure Camp experience ended up being such a positive opportunity for John to develop independence and this was something I really wanted for him. Not only did he make new friends and enjoy new experiences like playing in the sand at the beach and abseiling, but he also developed new independent skills that he is still doing at home now like brushing his teeth every day and getting himself dressed.

He’s more confident and we both understand that things won’t fall apart if I’m not around. John can’t wait to go back to Camp next year and I am so grateful to MDNSW for making this life-changing experience for him possible.”
