Summer Break

Make friends, try new things and build confidence, all in an inclusive and supportive environment.

This four-night camp is designed for children and teens aged 6–18 who live with a neuromuscular condition. It's an opportunity to build confidence, try new things, make lifelong memories and enjoy a meaningful break alongside peers who just get it.

With age-appropriate groups and full support from our experienced carers, every participant is set up for fun and connection. Activities are tailored to suit all ages, personalities and abilities – from powerchair football and swimming to pamper sessions, laser tag and creative workshops.

Check our calendar for details on the next Summer Break.

Testimonials

“The best part was having fun with friends and all the fun activities. I enjoyed the independence being away from family and making new friends.”

Summer Break Participant

“On the first day I was a bit nervous just getting to know the kids l didn’t know and the carers, but on the last day l didn’t want to go home because l had such a good time.”

“Summer Break is so fun. Some of my favourite activities include going to the beach where we built sandcastles and played games, and building a cubby house with my friend Johnny.”

“The Adventure Camp experience ended up being such a positive opportunity for John to develop independence and this was something I really wanted for him. Not only did he make new friends and enjoy new experiences like playing in the sand at the beach and abseiling, but he also developed new independent skills that he is still doing at home now like brushing his teeth every day and getting himself dressed.

He’s more confident and we both understand that things won’t fall apart if I’m not around. John can’t wait to go back to Camp next year and I am so grateful to MDNSW for making this life-changing experience for him possible.”
