Celebrating the wonderful women in our MD community for International Women’s Day
On Tuesday, 7th March, we hosted our International Women’s Day High Tea at Waterview, Bicentennial Park.
35 wonderful women came together in purple to celebrate the strength and resilience of women in our neuromuscular community. We enjoyed a delicious high tea, trivia games and lots of laughs! We heard words of wisdom from our Women in Our Community Panel, which included Lisa Brown who lives with LGMD, Mum and carer Frances Turner and Dr Michelle Lorentzos, paediatric neurologist at the Children’s Hospital Westmead.
Carol Nehme also spoke about writing her memoir Light at the End of the Tunnel, a moving insight into her journey as a woman with physical disability. What a fabulous way to celebrate International Women’s Day!
