Big Red Roll & Stroll 2025 – Our Biggest Yet!
Muscular Dystrophy NSW’s Big Red Roll & Stroll on 10 May was our biggest fundraising event yet.
We took over an incredible new location – Sydney Zoo – with more than 180 participants. They rolled, strolled and raced the 3km loop, stopping to spot animals from Africa to Asia and cheering on the cheeky primates. The fun didn’t stop at the finish line. Celebrations followed with food, drinks, music, raffle tickets and prizes for fundraising efforts, and the magic of Sydney Zoo’s Glow event lighting up the night.
We raised an incredible $92,600 to support the 13,000 people living with neuromuscular conditions in New South Wales. This will go directly towards supporting our Young Adults Retreat program, helping more young people experience freedom, flexibility and connection in a supportive weekend away.
For community ambassadors like Jamieson, Jaxon and Kieran, the fun, excitement, cute animals and genuine connection elements at the event meant so much. As young adults, having spaces to just be themselves, have fun and feel included is a big deal. Because joy, after all, is a core part of growing up – no matter your mobility.
“It’s a way for the community to come together. It’s one place where we’re all going ‘Yeah this is a part of our lives.’ Let’s recognise it. Let’s have a bit of fun and let’s raise some money,” said Jaxon.
Since 2020, Big Red Roll & Stroll has raised over $317,600 and engaged hundreds of passionate community members in our mission to support people living with a neuromuscular condition and their families at every life stage.
Thank you to everyone who participated or cheered us on. You’re helping create a world where people can live the life they choose – and we’re so proud to be making an impact together.
