Changes to the MDNSW Board

Recently we said thank you and farewell to long serving MDNSW Board Directors, Dr Christina Liang, David Kay and Kim Brislane. All three had made an enormous impact over their combined 20 years on the Board. Christina brought her unique medical expertise to help shape events like our Neuromuscular Information & Research Day; David brought his knowledge and network from his role as Chairman of the MDFA Board; and Michelle with expert knowledge in fundraising and marketing, ensured the growth and prosperity of our Sugar Free September campaign. We’ll miss your invaluable contribution, but wish you all the best and thank you both for your service.

Taking their place on the Board is Professor Alastair Corbett and Mark McCoy.

Professor Corbett is an Honorary Visiting Medical Officer in the Neurology Department at Concord Hospital and Clinical Associate Professor University of Sydney. He has a major interest in improving outcomes for people with neuromuscular disorders continues to conduct clinical research in the condition.

Mark McCoy has twenty years of experience as a non-executive director in banking, software, hospital and aged care sectors and currently runs his own professional practice advising on a wide range of governance and other business issues. He also has two adult children, one of whom lives with a disability.

We welcome the knowledge and expertise both gentlemen will bring to their positions on the MDNSW Board.
